  my map of... Seychelles

The Republic of Seychelles is made up of 115 islands offering an amazing diversity of experiences for visitors and an ever-widening choice of spectacular venues for an unforgettable tropical island holiday. The Seychelles are not generally renown for Mediterranean style activities - day time is for de stressing and getting in tune with nature whilst the evenings and nights are generally for dining and what you make of them yourself.

There are two categories of Seychelles Islands

Primarily, there are the granitic "Inner" Islands" that cluster around the principal islands of Mahé, Praslin and La Digue. Then there are the "Outer Islands", a sparkling array of flat, coralline islands extending westwards towards the coast of Africa.

Seychelles Inner Islands

The "Inner Islands" are the cultural and commercial focal points of Seychelles, it is here it is where the majority of the population of Seychelles live, the main islands are Mahé, Praslin and La Digue. These islands, whose verdant peaks climb skywards from virgin forests, are the main visitor destinations and where the vast majority of the hotels are located. Their beaches are probably all powder soft sand and often totally secluded away from the immediate hotel beach fronts. Mahé is the largest island with its commercial centre being the town of  Victoria .

Seychelles Outer Islands

The "Outer Islands" remain miniature worlds, little touched by man, thus offering a unique and incomparable island experience that is "as pure as it gets". These islands include the legendary Aldabra, the world's largest raised coral atoll and one of two UNESCO World Heritage Site located in Seychelles the other being Vallee de Mai on Praslin Island

Luxury Honeymoon, Weddings Holidays in Seychelles

Of all the Seychelles' islands only 16 have hotels, some of which offer luxurious amenities and the ultimate in 4 and 5-star wedding or honeymoon experiences. Seychelles is paradise - Seychelles is where your fantasies can become realities.

Fishing Scuba Diving and Snorkelling Holidays in Seychelles

The Seychelles offers some of the finest fishing and scuba diving holidays in the Indian Ocean. The seas around the islands are unbelievably clear and abound with the most colourful fish you could image.

WARNING - With a significant amount of the Seychelles coast line having Marine National Park status and its offshore waters also protected, a "catch and return" policy is enforced to maintain fish stocks for both food and sport. This is not to say of course, that some of your catch will be allowed to end up on your table.

As you would expect, with so many islands comprising Seychelles, island hopping is totally seamless with many scheduled and private internal flights, helicopter flights and marine ferry services available to make almost every itinerary possible. The two main islands Mahé and Praslin have an "interesting" yet excellent local bus net work with regular services to all corners of the islands. La Digu has its own unique forms of transport - the Ox Cart and the bicycle!

Weather in Seychelles

The Seychelles is constantly warm with temperatures varying gently between around 22 - 26 degrees centigrade all year round. Being islands set in the middle of the Indian Ocean, the influence of the sea is strong which results in a humid tropical type climate - which can be wet at times. The islands do not experience a distinct dry or wet season - just that at times of the year it can be a little dryer or a little wetter - relatively speaking!
